WHAT TO BRING WHEN MEETING WITH A MOBILE OR ONLINE NOTARY :
- The document(s) requiring signature(s) and notarization(s)
- A physical form of identification, including, but not limited to the following:
- A valid Driver License or Identification Card, issued by any US state, a valid Passport Issued in the United States, Canada, Mexico, or any US territory, including Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.
- A Florida notary may accept an expired ID, as long as it was issued no more than 5 years prior to the date the notarization takes place.
- A Florida Notary is only permitted to accept a foreign passport, presented to them in-person, if it has a physical entry stamp of evidence of an arrival record, which is now an uncommon practice. Official evidence of I-94 arrivals and departures can be verified and accessed by the signer(s) on the CBP website https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/home
- A Florida Remote Online Notary is allowed to accept a foreign passport, presented online, as long as the person has confirmed, for the record that they are physically appearing from outside the United States. They are not required to appear from within their country of residence.
